Kyle Gil Patrick (Picture above right) is 22 years old and has 8+ years of tournament bass fishing experience. Kyle goes to Hobart college and is pursuing Environmental Studies as a major and Entrepreneurial Studies as a minor. Growing up in Cooperstown, a small town in upstate NY Kyle started fishing for bass on Otsego lake at the age of 4. At the age of 14, Kyle took his passion for bass fishing to the next level, fishing with the Susquehanna Bass Association. He won his first event with the club at the age of 16 on Cayuga Lake. This motivated him to help start Think Like A Fish guide services. Based on his knowledge of the sport, he has helped many others learn to love the sport of bass fishing through Think Like A Fish guide services. Kyle is a licensed fishing guide and holds a Joint pilot and engineer license to operate a public vessel.
Chad Richard Tokowicz (Picture above left) is an avid angler with a formal education in Environmental Studies, Political Science and Entrepreneurial Studies. Through fishing, the various bodies of waters throughout the Finger Lakes Region and the Tributaries in the Lake Ontario Watershed Chad has developed a passion to showcase the wonders of this region and the various species available. Comfortable with both light tackle (spin) and fly fishing, Chad enjoys targeting various species throughout Upstate New York and New England, ranging from saltwater excursions for Striped Bass and Bluefish, long days on the Salmon (or another Lake O. Tributary) river targeting fresh Chinook and Steelhead, running around one of the various Lakes for Largemouth and Smallmouth bass, or visiting a local creek for trout, Chad is dialed in to it all. Due to his proximity to the industry, Chad has been featured in a variety of magazines and news sources and has also written a blog for Trout Unlimited during his time interning there.
Chad currently works as the Inland Fisheries Policy Manager at the American Sportfishing Association (ASA), a trade association representing the interests of tackle manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, the media industry, and other related fields. ASA is known for hosting the annual ICAST event, the largest fishing trade show in the world. As Inland Fisheries Policy Manager, Chad is responsible for advising the association on policies, regulations, and legislation that pertains to the management of inland fisheries and related resources at both a State and Federal level. For example, Chad has recently been involved with efforts against the Proposed Pebble Mine in Alaska and has been heavily focused on the threat that Aquatic Invasive Species, notably the Asian Carp, pose to inland fisheries throughout the nation.
Chad is currently undergoing the guide licensing process for New York State and will begin leading trips in VA, PA, NY, and throughout New England for various species, ranging from Striped Bass to Brook Trout.
We fish out of a fully loaded Nitro Z7 bass boat (Ask me to add dual console and I will). The boat has a 150 hp Mercury Optimax motor, four fish finders, a pair of Minn Kota talons (shallow water anchors on back of the boat), a 24-volt Minn Kota trolling motor, a cooler, comfortable seating, and large, aerated live wells. The boat is inspected as a “Public Vessel” by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (Pictures of the boat below). We also use a Canon EOS 80D DSLR Camera for high-quality pictures of you fishing and the fish you catch. We will then post online about your trip for you to see. We will also send you all pictures via Email.
